What a fabulous inn! The home is incredible with updated, old southern charm - Top on our list were the hand carved staircase, painted ceilings, the 3 beautiful porches, an outstanding breakfast, and a friendly, helpful innkeeper! It was a wonderful get away, and we will definitely be back! We had 406 which has a spectacular view of the marina, the Beaufort River, and Bay Street in town!

This place is an absolute gem! We had such a good time. The area is full of history. There is so much history in this house and the owners do a great job sharing it. From the numbered windows, to the hideaway booze shelves in the walls and the carvings in the ceilings it’s absolutely beautiful. The owners are so kind, we traveled from Florida and I didn’t bring a warm enough jacket for the cold snap they were having and she loaned me a jacket to use. All of the staff was great. Breakfast was good, and they even made gluten free options for me for breakfast and for the nightly treat they bring to the rooms. You are walking distance to the downtown stores and restaurants. We will be back for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at The Anchorage! The staff is excellent; very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is so delicious, and the service is outstanding. Fantastic views, location, and amenities. Definitely recommend.

The location was across from the harbor so you can see the bay from the Inn. Nearby town was easy to walk to. We rode their complementary bikes around town and stopped at the National Cemetery. The staff were so kind and helpful. …

We truly enjoyed the stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the location was fabulous. We could walk to everything in the downtown area and had a great view of the river. Upon arrival the owner met us at check in and recommended several things to do and places to visit. We explained we had a trip planned the next morning and were leaving at 8:30 so we would miss breakfast our first morning and she said she would have the chef make us breakfast sandwiches to go in the morning. The room was nice and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner at the Inn on Wednesday, and it was very good and worth doing if you stay here. The only complaint was the hot water was not working very well. Definitely would recommend staying here for a unique experience.

Our stay at the Anchorage 1770 was wonderful! A beautiful and historic home, lovely fourth floor room with views of the bay, luxuriant bedding and sippin’ wine on a gracious upper patio amid iconic columns. Sunset over the marsh while dining on the front patio and after-dinner drinks in the main room. A truly classic inn experience. The owner, Amy, is a gracious host who shared so much local knowledge and her passion for preservation of this great home. We are most grateful to Sarah and Isha for their hospitality and making our experience so special!

We stayed in the Upper Carriage House room. Next time, I'll book further in advance to stay in the main house. This is definitely a must-stay location. We booked on a weekend when a large wedding was in-town so rooms were difficult to find on short notice. It was a nice atmosphere, quiet and clean.

Wonderful location, lovely staff, and yummy breakfast. My “upper cottage”room was just right. Housekeeping daily. Orange flavored water and sugar cookies delivered nightly to my room. Highly recommend.
